There is no charge to use the Wibit course; you only need to pay the swimming pool entrance fee.

Autumn in the local countryside inspires people to get out and about in nature

Tuusula is home to many outdoor destinations, such as the Sarvikallo recreation area and Fjällbo Park on the shores of Lake Tuusulanjärvi, the ‘Seven Brothers’ hiking trail running through South Tuusula, and the Hyrylä, Jokela and Kellokoski walking trails – not to mention the local woods right on your doorstep. Spend a lovely day out in the fresh air!

Exercise at sports facilities

If you’re looking for some fun, independent exercise during your holiday, Tuusula’s indoor and outdoor sports facilities offer plenty of options.  You can play racket sports at the Tuusula Sports Centre, for example, and the outdoor sports facilities located across Tuusula offer a range of free activities open to everyone, such as disc golf courses, skateparks and a BMX track.

A new, large local sports area has opened this autumn in front of the Tekova Arena at the Tuusula Sports Centre. The area features a wide range of exercise equipment, a bouldering wall, a basketball court and two street basketball courts, a running track, outdoor gym equipment and many other opportunities for people of all ages to get active. For example, you can have a friendly race with a friend on the obstacle course, try pole dancing or play Teqball. The area is open to everyone and free of charge.

Activities for young people

Time flies, even on holiday. During the autumn half-term, you can get active at the Tuusula Sports Centre and take part in activities at the youth centres.

Events during the autumn half-term week at the youth services:

Free admission for under-18s to Halosenniemi, Erkkola and the Lotta Museum

Halosenniemi and the ‘Sacred Nature’ exhibition are open from Tuesday to Sunday, 12 noon to 5 pm. The exhibition showcases artists’ interpretations of nature, ranging from Pekka Halonen’s landscape paintings to the works of contemporary artists. Admission to the museum is free for under-18s; the admission fee for adults is €14 and for pensioners and students €12.

Erkkola’s exhibition ‘Kirjaimellisesti katsoen’ explores the multifaceted relationship between the visual arts and literary expression. The exhibition brings together works from the Tuusula Art Museum’s collection in which words, texts and literary references are interwoven with visual expression, sometimes subtly, sometimes prominently as part of the works’ structure. Erkkola is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 12 noon to 5 pm.

Head to the Lotta Museum during the autumn half-term! At the Lotta Museum’s exhibitions, children can learn about the history of the Lotta women through a fun ‘Lotta scavenger hunt’. In the garden, you can take part in the ‘Animals of Syväranta’ photo scavenger hunt during the museum’s opening hours, and there is also a playground in the museum grounds.
