Applying for afte oon activities

Applications for schoolchildren’s afte oon activities are made using an electronic form via the eDaisy programme. You can log in to the service using your online banking credentials via the Suomi.fi service.

The centralised application period for activities starting in autumn 2026 is 11 December 2025–31 March 2026 for future first-year pupils. Guardians have been informed of this directly in a letter about school enrolment. The centralised application period for future second-year pupils and older pupils is 1 February–31 March 2026. Guardians will be informed of this via Wilma. It is also possible to apply after the application period. However, applications received during the centralised application period will be given priority.

If you are applying for an afte oon club place outside the centralised application period, please contact the afte oon activities coordinator Laura Aalto. You will find her contact details at the bottom of the page.

Please note the following when completing the application form

Once you have logged in to the eDaisy service, select the tab for schoolchildren’s afte oon activities on the front page. This will open the application form for afte oon activities.

Select the area (e.g. Jokela) on the application form and, from the schools that appear below it, select the school where your child will start school or already attends.

In cases of joint custody (not living at the same address), the application form can only be completed by the person who is listed as the payer on the invoice.

The school placements of future first-year pupils will be finalised in the headteachers’ pupil admission decisions in week 13.

If, for some reason, you are unable to apply for a place in the club via eDaisy, you can submit the attached application form to the afte oon activities coordinator.

Afte oon activities for special classes at Rykmentinpuisto School

The mo ing and afte oon activities provided as special care for pupils in special classes in the municipality of Tuusula are organised by the welfare sector and provided by the municipalities. The activities are organised in accordance with a separate agreement made with Keusote.

Afte oon care in special classes gives parents the opportunity to work and provides diverse activities that promote social interaction for pupils with developmental disabilities. The activities are based on cooperation with parents and care and guidance that maintains the client’s functional capacity.

Organising activities

Activities are organised in five different groups. Afte oon activities are offered to pupils in special classes during school hours from Monday to Friday between 12 noon and 4.30 p.m. In addition, full-day holiday care is organised in June and August.

Applying for afte oon activities

Applications for special class afte oon activities are primarily submitted via eDaisy, following the same instructions as for other afte oon activity groups. During the school year, you should apply for an afte oon activity place as soon as possible when the need arises. The preliminary information form should be completed and retu ed to the special classes’ afte oon activities immediately after submitting the application.

Applying for holiday care

Care during holiday periods must be applied for using a separate form. The form can either be printed out and brought to Rykmentinpuisto School (marked for Rosa Apell / special classes afte oon activities) or sent by email to rosa.apell@tuusula.fi.

Further information on afte oon activities for special classes

Rosa Apell is the supervisor responsible for afte oon activities in special classes, tel. 040 314 4815 (9–11 a.m.).

  • Pilke 040 314 4871
  • Light 040 314 4447
  • Loiste 040 314 4837

Afte oon activities are granted for the entire school year. When registering for activities
, you must commit to 4.5 months, i.e. until the end of December. At other times, the notice period is one full calendar month.

Confirmation of position and resignation

By submitting an application, the family commits to an after-school club place. The guardian may cancel the place free of charge within 14 days of receiving the decision. The cancellation must be made in writing to the after-school activities coordinator. After the cancellation period has expired, the termination procedure will be followed.

During the autumn, in cases of resignation, full exemption from fees after the notice period can only be granted for the following reasons:

  • moving away from the locality,
  • financial changes in family circumstances (e.g. unemployment, job alte ation leave, mate ity leave) or
  • if it is in the child's best interests. If the termination is based on the child's best interests, the group leaders, teacher and, if necessary, other parties will also be consulted. In other cases, the family will be charged half of the activity fee for the autumn term after the termination period.

During the spring term, resignation from activities takes place within the resignation period.

Termination procedure

The notice period is always one full calendar month. Resignation from afte oon activities must be made in writing at least one month before the end of the last month of attendance. The notification must be made in Daisy or, if this is not possible, by contacting the coordinator. The club’s supervisor must also always be notified of the termination.

Organising afte oon clubs

Club activities are applied for at the local school club. The club location is determined according to the school placement decision, and activities will begin at the child’s own school if 13 children register for the activities during the centralised application period. Otherwise, the club location will be at a nearby school. In these cases, the child will be transported from school to the afte oon activities, but not from the afte oon activities to home.

No later than when the club begins, guardians must fill out a preliminary information form about their child, which is submitted to the club instructor.

Monthly payments
(starting 1 August 2026)

An invoice for the monthly fee will be sent after the month of attendance. School holidays do not affect the amount of the monthly fee. The club fee for August is half of the monthly fee. If a payment reduction has been granted, this will be taken into account when halving the fee. No invoice will be sent for June, even though there may be individual club days in some years.

In which cases is a different monthly fee charged?

Below are descriptions of situations in which the club fee is lower than the normal monthly fee. You will also find instructions on how to apply for a fee reduction.

Income-based reduction of payments

Requests for exemption from or reduction of customer fees must be submitted primarily via eDaisy in accordance with the instructions below.

The decision is made for a fixed period, for a maximum of one academic year at a time. The granted fee reduction will be taken into account in the next invoice. Applications for fee reductions are always taken into account from the beginning of the month when the income information has been reported to us. We do not refund fees retroactively. The payment relief limits are based on the Ministry of Education and Culture’s announcement on index-adjusted early childhood education customer fees, 1411/2015.

Gross income limits as of 1 September 2023
  • If there are two people in the family, the income limit for not charging a customer fee (0%) is €4,066 and the income limit for halving the customer fee (50%) is €5,251.
  • If there are three people in the family, the income limit for not charging a customer fee (0%) is €5,245 and the income limit for halving the customer fee (50%) is €6,375.
  • If there are four people in the family, the income limit for waiving the customer fee (0%) is €5,956 and the income limit for halving the customer fee (50%) is €7,052.
  • If there are five people in the family, the income limit for waiving the customer fee (0%) is €6,667 and the income limit for halving the customer fee (50%) is €7,730.
  • If there are six people in the family, the income limit for not charging a customer fee (0%) is €7,376 and the income limit for halving the customer fee (50%) is €8,405.

If the family size exceeds 6, €275 will be added to the minimum income limits for the family. For example, if there are 8 people in the family, 2 x 275, i.e. €550, will be added.

When a child starts afte oon activities in the middle of the month and there are no more than 10 activity days in the month, half the fee will be charged.

When a child starts afte oon activities in the middle of the month and there are more than ten activity days during the month, the fee for the entire month will be charged.

Absence lasting the entire month
