Cultural education program

The cultural education program is a plan for how cultural, artistic and cultural heritage education is implemented in the municipality as part of early childhood education and basic education, and how culture is brought into the lives of children in Tuusula.

In Tuusula, we have three cultural education programs: Taika-Kultsu, a cultural education plan for early childhood education; Kultsu, a cultural education plan for basic education and Secondary education Kultsu, a cultural education plan for secondary education.

The cultural education programme for early childhood education Taika-Kultsu

The cultural education programme for early childhood education is called Taika-Kultsu.

At Taika-Kultsu, we provide tools for cultural education in everyday early childhood education and offer training courses for early childhood education staff to become experts in various art forms. Taika-Kultsu also includes activities carried out by arts and culture professionals, in which early childhood education groups participate either as participants or creators.

Taika-Kultsu materials are available for use in both municipal and private daycare centres.

Kultsu

The basic education cultural education plan Kultsu covers grades 1–9.

We offer a variety of cultural content and experiences for each grade level every year. The cultural education plan in Tuusula is implemented by Tuusula Cultural Services, the museum, library services, the art school and the Lotta Museum.

Secondary education Kultsu

The cultural education programme Kultsu will be expanded to include 16–18-year-olds in autumn 2023. We offer free activities for student groups from Tuusula Upper Secondary School and Keuda.

The content of the second level of Kultsun is produced by Tuusula’s cultural services, i.e. the museum, library, college and general culture, as well as the Lotta Museum.

Cultural education plan:

facilitates teachers’ opportunities to utilise the municipality’s extensive cultural, museum and library services.
