You can send a request for correction or response to the municipality of Tuusula regarding an article or other writing published in the resident magazine (Elämää Tuusulassa). A request for correction conce s incorrect factual information, not, for example, the perspective of the article or the opinions expressed in it.

According to the Freedom of Expression Act(opens in a new window, switch to another service), private individuals, associations, foundations and public authorities have the right to have any incorrect information about themselves or their activities published in a periodical, online publication or programme, to have any incorrect information conce ing themselves or their activities corrected in the same publication or in the programme of the relevant programme operator, unless the correction of the information is manifestly unnecessary due to the minor nature of the error.

Similarly, a private individual who has reasonable grounds to consider that a message presented in a periodical publication, online publication or comparable, repeatedly broadcast programme is offensive to them has the right to have a response published in the same publication or programme.

A request for a response or correction must be submitted to the relevant editor within 14 days of the publication of the message on which the request is based. 

When contacting us, please state your name and specify exactly which publication your request conce s.

Please answer at least the following questions in your request:

• Provide your contact details: your name and telephone number or email address.
• Is this a request for correction or a request for a response?
• What publication and article does the request conce ?
• To what extent are you seeking correction or a response to the publication?
• Please provide detailed reasons for your request.

If you feel that you have the right to a correction or response, you can send a request for correction or response to the editorial office of the resident magazine by email: viestinta@tuusula.fi. The editors-in-chief will also accept your request: paula.miettinen@tuusula.fi, pia.visti-korhonen@tuusula.fi and timo.nurmi@tuusula.fi. You can also send your request for correction or response by post to the municipality, but please note that it will take some time for the post to arrive.

If an error requiring correction is found in the resident magazine, the correction will be published as soon as possible on the website and in the next printed issue. The error will also be corrected in the online version of the magazine.
