Park dining in Tuusula
Every year in Tuusula, we organise free park meals at all our community centres. The park meals are intended for all children and young people under the age of 18 who live in Tuusula. As well as the meal, there will be a fun programme of activities.

Food for the park lunch is served outdoors on weekdays in June and July from 11.30 am to 12 noon, or whilst stocks last. We set aside 80 portions per dining area each day. This number may vary from year to year based on previous years’ experience.
You do not need to register separately for the picnic. Please bring your own cutlery (fork, knife, spoon) and a plate suitable for the day’s meal, as well as a drink of your choice, for example in a water bottle.

Points to note regarding outdoor dining at Tuusulanjärvi School in week 27
The school playground is used by the early years programme in the mornings until 11.30, which is why those having their lunch in the playground can only come out once lunch has started. You can spend time in the playground until 2.00 pm, after which the playground is again reserved for early years education until 5.00 pm.
Supporting programme during the meal
There will also be a supporting programme to accompany the park lunches.
The Library Bike will be visiting park picnics in South Tuusula. The library bike will be at Tuusulanjärvi School on 9 June and 23 June, and in Kotkanpuisto on 16 June from 11.00 to 12.30. The programme includes the distribution of books from the library’s clearance sale and some light activities.
At Tuusulanjärvi School on Tuesday 23 June During the outdoor lunch taking place from 11.30 am to 12.00 pm, you can join in and help shape the winning proposal from the participatory budgeting vote for children and young people, which is a farm animal event in Hyrylä. All children are warmly welcome to come along and share their thoughts on the programme, the animals and what sort of event it should be.
Feedback on eating in the park
You can also provide feedback on the park’s catering practices and the quality of the food throughout the summer via a Google Forms survey.
