In the autumn, premises for Tuusula Municipality, a Prisma hypermarket and smaller retail units will be completed in Särmä. The project will bring Tuusula Town Hall’s services back to the heart of Hyrylä and create space for shops and services.
As part of the construction work, Tuusula Municipality has carried out road and traffic improvements in the Särmä area.
Särmä is situated in the centre of Hyrylä at Autoasemankatu 4. The main entrance is at the end facing Tuusulanväylä; there is also an entrance at the southern corner of the building, on the Tykkimiehenpolku side. You can also reach Särmä by car from the end facing Hyryläntie, where there is a ramp.
Arriving by private car
The Särmä building has two underground car park levels, which can be accessed both from the Tuusulanväylä side, next to Lidl, and from the Hyryläntie side. Charging points for electric cars are located on the lower car park level, i.e. level K2. The car park levels are designed for vehicles up to 2.3 metres in height.
Information on parking prices and terms and conditions can be found on the website of Aimo Park, the company that operates the car park. The parking levels can be accessed on foot at street level via lifts, moving walkways and stairs.
There is also parking available in the outdoor car park in front of Särmä and the main library. In total, there are around 550 parking spaces at Särmä and in the surrounding area for the use of visitors.
In addition, on the Hyryläntie side of Särmä, the Koskensillantie multi-storey car park is nearing completion; it will have 200 spaces for public use and a clearance height of 2.4 metres. Charging points for electric cars are available on the ground floor.
At least initially, you can park in the car park free of charge, but parking may become subject to a charge at a later date.
Public and light transport
Särmä is also easily accessible by public transport. If you’re travelling by bus, you can get off at the Autoasemankatu stop or at the bus station, from where it’s just a short walk to Särmä.
If you arrive by bike, you can leave it in one of the bike racks, of which there are several along the walls of Särmä. The racks allow you to lock the frame of your bike.
Customer areas on two floors
Tuusula Municipality’s customer service offices are on the second floor and the conference centre is on the third floor. There is access to the municipal offices via stairs and a lift from the Särmä shopping arcade.
The list below shows which of the municipality’s customer service functions are available at Särmä. You can also see the floors on which the services are located, their opening hours and whether an advance booking is required.
In addition to the operations of Tuusula Municipality, the regional services of the Central Uusimaa Environmental Centre will also be transferred to Särmä. Särmä will serve clients in the areas of environmental monitoring, environmental protection, animal welfare, food safety and health protection.
Client meetings must be arranged in advance with the person responsible for the relevant inspection. You can find their contact details on the Central Uusimaa Environment Centre’s website.
Sample bottles for testing your own well water are available from the TuusInfo service point at street level. Samples can be handed in at TuusInfo on Thursdays between 9 am and 12 noon. There is a charge for customers for the analysis of samples.
You can seek assistance from the health inspectors responsible for domestic water monitoring at the Central Uusimaa Environment Centre in determining which samples are required and interpreting the test results.

Särmä’s central location and well-equipped facilities make it ideal for hosting a wide range of meetings and gatherings. Adjacent to the conference centre’s facilities is a kitchen area for catering. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee machine and crockery. The small fees charged for the meeting rooms vary depending on the user group.
You can view the meeting rooms and book them via the council’s online booking system. Booking requires strong authentication (suomi.fi, mobile certificate or online banking credentials). The venues will become available for booking during the autumn.
The Tuusula municipal community lending service is also moving to Särmä. From the community lending service, located in the basement, residents, associations and other organisations can borrow items such as tents, sound equipment, tables and chairs for their events.
