The flow can be restricted by means of a control valve installed at the end of the pipe. The removal of oxygen-depleted water works all year round and does not require any power.

The costs mainly consist of the pipe, which must have a sufficiently large diameter of approximately 315 mm. In addition, there are costs for labour and weights for anchoring the pipe. The cost estimate for a layman is approximately €200,000. The benefits include improved oxygen levels in the lake and the disappearance of algae from the lake.
