Culture-friendly of the year
Every year, we present the Culture-Friendly Award to an individual, association or community that has revitalised, renewed or promoted culture in Tuusula through its activities.

Tuusula has a long tradition of cultural life. An open-minded attitude and a passion for creativity quickly bring to the fore a diverse range of people, interesting perspectives, new cultural projects and multifaceted art. With this cultural award, we want to encourage cultural actors and show our appreciation for innovative cultural achievements.
The Culture Award may be granted to:
- cultural operator
- cultural event
- cultural work
In all cases, the award recipient may be an individual, an association or another organisation.
The award includes a certificate of honour and a cash prize. One or more awards may be presented each year at the discretion of the committee, but the award may also be left unpresented. The award cannot be received twice, nor can it be awarded to events or activities organised by the municipality of Tuusula. The Culture and Leisure Committee decides on the value of the award and confirms the members of the jury each year. The decision on the recipient of the culture award is made by the award jury. The jury consists of the chair of the Culture and Leisure Committee, the director of culture and museums, and a cultural producer, as well as other persons invited to join the jury as necessary. The
Culture Person of the Year is usually announced on 22 July, Tuusula Day.
