Guided tours and book recommendations
All school classes in Tuusula are welcome to visit the library! In addition to borrowing books, a visit to the library can include, for example, book recommendations or guidance on information retrieval.

We offer guidance and book recommendations to all 1st, 3rd and 7th grade students in Tuusula as part of Tuusula’s cultural education plan, Kultsu. Read more about Tuusula’s cultural education plan on the website:
The library is committed to making Kultsu content available to all Tuusula residents in the relevant target group classes. We will offer other library visits whenever possible.
A group visit to the library may include, for example:
- book recommendation
- information retrieval or online library guidance
- general introduction to library services
- putting together a book or material package ready for visits.
Book an appointment for book recommendations or guidance at least two weeks before your visit.
Book recommendations are primarily held at the library, but in exceptional circumstances, they can also be arranged at the school.
We offer the following library visits to all schools in Tuusula:
1st grade, Takku and Jekku’s library adventure
The basics of using the library at your local library or mobile library
Description: Let’s get to know our local library or mobile library. What interesting things to read, watch, listen to and play can be found on the library shelves?
Duration: 45–75 minutes

3rd grade, Reading for pleasure!
Book recommendation at your local library or school
Description: Encourage reading by presenting interesting books: new, old, classics, fun, exciting or perhaps even strange books. At the same time, encourage pupils to complete reading diplomas.
Duration: 45–60 minutes
Location: Library (or, in exceptional cases, school)
7th grade, Knowledge and skills through play
Functional library visit
Description: Let’s learn how to search for information in the library through play. We will go through, for example, the genres of fiction, find out what YKL means, information retrieval, and explore the library’s diverse offerings.
Duration: 60–90 minutes
