Museum volunteers

Volunteering at the museum gives you a glimpse behind the scenes. It’s a great chance to learn about museum work and the history of Tuusula in a special way. Our volunteers have assisted in various public events, created props for exhibitions and workshops, helped with small garden tasks, and participated in supervising children’s activities. We develop our volunteer opportunities based on participants’ interests. Our volunteers have also contributed to documenting contemporary Tuusula through photography.

We meet every few months to chat, drink coffee or tea and to hear about current interesting museum topics. In get together events we have exprored exhibitions and historical sites in the area. We have tested new virtual technologies in museum context and attended lectures on the history of Tuusula. Volunteers receive a seasonal newsletter, which provides insider information on upcoming events and museum activities.

Volunteers are not employed by the museum and are not paid for their work. However, as a volunteer, you can support the museum’s activities and create interesting and important experiences for museum visitors and yourself.
