Applying for private care allowance

Private childcare allowance, childcare supplement and municipal supplement are applied for from Kela(switch to another service) (Child home care allowance – Private childcare allowance application WH 1). The allowance can also be applied for on paper.

In addition to the WH 1 application, you must submit the WH 2 application, “Report on the daycare provider,” to Kela. This application is completed by the private early childhood education provider.

Private childcare allowance, childcare allowance and municipal supplement are paid to private early childhood education providers.

The service provider determines the price of early childhood education, which consists of the care fee paid by the guardian, the care allowance, the care supplement and the municipal supplement.

The sibling allowance is €177 per month for the first child in full-time early childhood education, if there are two children in early childhood education. If there are three children in early childhood education, the sibling supplement for the oldest child is €236 per month and for the second oldest child €177 per month. The supplement is always applied for and granted starting with the oldest child in the family. The sibling supplement for a child in part-time early childhood education (including early childhood education supplementing pre-primary education) is €70.80 per month. The sibling supplement is paid to the private service provider, who deducts the amount of the supplement from the family’s early childhood education fee.
