Eating habits of older people

The municipality of Tuusula organises communal lunches for senior citizens. Leftovers from school lunches can also be purchased to take away. Providing meals for senior citizens helps to reduce food waste in schools and offers senior citizens an affordable, nutritious meal. Meals are served after the pupils have finished eating, if there is any food left over. A notice is posted at the main entrance of the school to indicate whether food is available for purchase. The schools that organise the meals and the times are listed on the meals for senior citizens page.

Meeting place activities organised by pensioners’ associations

Tuusula has many active pensioners’ associations that organise a wide range of activities for retired people. It is easy to get involved in the activities of these associations by contacting them.
