Apartment building
Puustelli’s market square is bordered on two sides by apartment buildings with French balconies.

The work has been commissioned by the municipality of Tuusula and produced by the steering group of the Rykmentinpuisto art programme. The work will be located in the courtyard of the Tuusulan Saran housing cooperative. The residents of the housing cooperative can participate in the selection of the draft. The residents will be given a presentation of the drafts. Rami Niemi will represent the housing association and vote on its behalf at the selection meeting. In addition, the art programme steering group will be assisted in the curation process by internationally renowned artist Kim Simonsson. He will participate in the work of the evaluation group during the draft stage. Simonsson’s commissioned work, Koululainen (Schoolchild), was completed on the Tuusulanjärvi campus in 2024.

We hope for broad participation from the artist community in the portfolio search. Commissioned works have been carried out in Rykmentinpuisto Park in accordance with the art programme as the area’s construction has progressed since 2017. The art at Puustellintori will become part of the Tuusula Art Museum’s collections and the colourful art production of Rykmentinpuisto. It is hoped that the work will create a unique atmosphere and landmark for the site.
