Indoor air quality problems have been detected at the Notkopuisto daycare centre. The situation regarding the indoor air quality at the daycare centre has been investigated, and on 10 February 2025, the health inspector ordered that certain premises must be taken out of use by 31 March 2025. The repairs will affect the Sammalmetsä, Kaislalehto and Perhetupa group rooms located in the old part of the building. The municipality will proceed with the repairs immediately.

The daycare centre opening in Peltokaarre in autumn 2024 will provide suitable facilities for the three groups of children moving from Notkopuisto. The aim is to make the move to temporary premises in such a way that siblings attending Notkopuisto daycare centre can remain at the same daycare centre. The daycare centre is planning the rapid change while listening to the parents. The temporary arrangements will continue until the necessary repairs to the Notkopuisto premises have been completed.

The staff at the Notkopuisto and Peltokaaren daycare centres and the guardians of the Notkopuisto daycare centre were informed of the situation on Tuesday, 11 February 2025. A guardians’ evening will be held for the parents of the Notkopuisto daycare centre on 24 February 2025.

We understand that this situation will cause changes and challenges in the daily lives of our staff and their families. However, the most important thing is to provide healthy and safe facilities for the children and staff as quickly as possible.
