The draft master plan for the central part of Rykmentinpuisto Park (No. 2010) is moving forward to the Municipal Development Committee for consideration.
The Tuusula Municipal Development Committee will discuss the general plan for the central part of Rykmentinpuisto at its meeting on 14 May 2025. The general planning work, which began last year, has progressed to the draft stage.

Rykmentinpuisto has a valid, legally binding local master plan. The aim of the general plan for the central part of Rykmentinpuisto is to examine the local master plan solution for areas that do not have a legally binding or pending local detailed plan. The general plan designates green and recreational areas, areas for residential and workplace construction, and key street network connection needs, while also taking into account the area’s natural values.
A general and explanatory master plan is not a blueprint and has no legal effect. After the master plan phase, local detailed plans are drawn up to guide construction.
Compared to the legally binding local master plan, the draft general plan adds recreational areas and reduces the size of the blocks to be built. The planning area covers approximately 112 hectares. The draft general plan includes approximately 24 hectares more recreational areas than the local master plan, totalling 73 hectares, or 65% of the planning area.
| Intended use | Area, general plan | Area, partial master plan |
| Green area | 73 ha (65%) | 49 ha (44%) |
| Residential area | 35 ha (31%) | 56 ha (50%) |
| Workplace area | 4 ha (4%) | 7 ha (6%) |
| Total | 112 ha (100%) | 112 ha (100%) |
Approximately 100,000 square metres of residential construction could be zoned in the general plan area, which means approximately 2,800 residents.
The general plan for Rykmentinpuisto Park will be presented to the committee for review. A residents’ meeting will be held during the public display period. The public display and residents’ meeting will be announced on the Tuusula municipal website on the general plan project card, in the newspaper and in the Tuusula events calendar.
