Tuusula's most child-friendly initiative in 2025 is the joint Special Ice programme run by KJT and Blue Rings.
At the turn of October and November, Tuusula searched for the most child-friendly act in Tuusula. The search was for an individual who had taken particular account of the rights of children and young people to be heard. A jury composed of children and young people selected KJT and Blue Rings: Special Ice as the winner of the award.
The search for Tuusula’s most child-friendly act was linked to this year’s Children’s Rights Week theme, ‘The right to be heard’. The Tuusula Municipality’s Child-Friendly Municipality Coordination Group selected five proposals from those received by the deadline for a panel of children and young people to vote on. We would like to thank everyone who submitted a proposal!
The jury
of children and young people, consisting of pupils from Rykmentinpuisto School and members of the Tuusula Youth Council, voted KJT and Blue Rings: Special Ice as the most child-friendly act in Tuusula in 2025. According to the proposer, the recognised activity offers a truly low-threshold hobby opportunity for children with special needs every Sunday morning in Tuusula. Everyone can be themselves and everyone is taken into account.
The recipient of the award was announced at the Mayor’s Question Time event held at Rykmentinpuisto School on 19 November during Children’s Rights Week. The recipient will be presented with a certificate of honour and flowers.
