Summer employment for young people in municipal offices

In summer 2026, the municipality of Tuusula will hire young people aged 15–19 from Tuusula for summer jobs in various assistant roles. There are 55 summer jobs available for young people in different parts of the municipality, for example in daycare centres, cleaning, food services, parks and offices. The summer jobs will take place during the school holidays, from June to August.

Selection for municipal summer jobs is done in two stages. First, Human Resources randomly selects applicants from among those who have applied for summer jobs to be interviewed. After that, the supervisors of the work units offering summer jobs interview the selected applicants and choose the summer workers from among those interviewed. All applicants will be notified in April whether they have been successful in the summer job lottery.

Applications for municipal summer jobs for 2026 will be accepted between 30 January and 1 March 2026.

The application link will be available from 30 January 2026 on the Summer jobs in the municipality page:

Summer job vouchers support the employment of young people in companies, associations and foundations

The municipality of Tuusula will distribute 150 summer job vouchers in 2026, and the application period will begin on 23 February 2026.

A summer job voucher worth €200 can be granted to young people aged 15–20. The young person must turn 15 during 2026 but be under 21 at the end of the employment relationship. Summer job vouchers are primarily granted to young people who have not used a voucher in 2024 or 2025. If a young person has received a voucher in previous years, their application will be placed in a queue. The queue will open for them on 31 May 2026.

The voucher can be used by companies, associations or foundations operating in Finland (not private individuals). The summer job voucher is applied for by the young person’s employer after agreeing on the employment relationship with the young person.

A young person can be granted a maximum of two (2) summer job vouchers. One company can use a maximum of six summer job vouchers. The employment period is May–September 2026, but if there are vouchers left, they can also be applied for employment relationships in October–November.

The summer job voucher is granted as de minimis aid, and in order to be eligible, the applicant must disclose all de minimis aid received over the last three years when submitting the application. From the beginning of 2026, the grantor of the aid will report the aid to the EU’s central aid register. The

application period for summer job vouchers begins on 23 February 2026.
