The general plan guides the planning and development of the entire municipality’s green structure and network at a general and descriptive level. The work examines green areas, canopy cover and carbon sinks, as well as ecological networks and habitats. In addition, the green area network is assessed from the perspectives of recreational use, greenness and coverage as part of the construction of a sustainable and pleasant living environment. The general plan is not an official plan and has no legal effect. The general plan serves as a basis and background for more detailed zoning and planning work.

VISSI work objectives

The VISSI project consists of an extensive explanatory section and a series of planning instruction cards (Appendix 1). The explanatory section serves as a theoretical knowledge base, outlining the principles, objectives and background factors related to the green network. It also contains a wealth of information specific to Tuusula. The set of design instruction cards, on the other hand, provides practical guidance organised by theme and area. Its aim is to support the consideration of the green network structure in land use planning and implementation.

The proposal for the Green Network Plan (VISSI) will be available for viewing between 26 March and 15 May 2026 on the Tuusula municipal website and at the TuusInfo customer service offices at the Hyrylä Library (Autoasemankatu 2), Jokela Library (Keskustie 20) and Kellokoski Library (Kuntotaival 2B).

The proposal for the green network plan will be presented at public meetings open to all residents:

Further information about residents’ meetings can also be found on the Tuusula municipal website in the events calendar.

During the public display period (26 March to 15 May 2026), it will be possible to submit opinions and official statements on the proposal. Opinions should be submitted by 15 May 2026 at the latest.
