The young members of the A.L. Stop & Go team from Kellokoski will be rewarded with a two-week summer work placement in recognition of their success so far in the competition, in which a total of 36 teams are taking part in the final.

By offering the team summer jobs, Tuusula Municipality wishes to demonstrate its commitment to supporting youth employment at a time when it is extremely difficult for young people to find work, particularly without prior work experience.

– A summer job is a valuable but often hard-to-come-by opportunity for young people. The challenges of entering the world of work are particularly evident among primary school pupils looking for their first work experience. Tuusula wants to do its bit to help young people get a foothold in the world of work, says Mayor Janne Mellin.

Taitaja9 is a fun skills competition aimed at pupils in Years 7–9, offering young people the chance to try out the skills needed in the workplace, as well as teamwork and problem-solving skills.

The competition supports young people’s future skills, fosters an interest in vocational skills and gives young people the chance to shine in a way that isn’t based on traditional academic achievement.

– For secondary school pupils, Taitaja9 offers an inspiring first taste of workplace skills and vocational fields. It also gives young people the chance to test their own strengths and practise teamwork, says Hanna Nyrönen, competition director for Taitaja2026.

In addition to Tuusula, the member organisations of Keuda, the organising body for the Taitaja competition, have committed to offering summer jobs to the most successful Taitaja9 teams.
