The ILCA Youth World Championships 2026 will be held on Lake Tuusula from 22 to 26 June 2026. The event is being organised by Tuusulanjärven Purjehtijat, which also organised the 2012 Youth World Championships.

In the week leading up to the competition week, from 15 to 18 June 2026, both the Finnish and European Championships will be held at the same venue. Taking part in these competitions offers sailors an excellent opportunity to familiarise themselves with the competition area and its wind conditions ahead of the World Championships. Around 20 sailing boats are expected for these competitions alone, each with a crew of three.

You can watch the races for free from the shore. In Tuusula, for example, you can watch the racing boats from the lakeside road, or in Järvenpää from the tip of Vanhankylänniemi, near the bathing area.

Sailing boats can be seen every day during the regatta weeks; the times vary from day to day depending on wind conditions. Daily race schedules are available on the websites of the Tuusulanjärven Purjehtijat and the Finnish Lightning Association during the regatta weeks.

The organisers would like Purjeranta in Vanhankylänniemi to be kept clear for competitors and support teams so that the event can be organised.

Tuusula Council is supporting the competition with a grant.
