The refurbishment of the swimming pool has been completed, and the pool will reopen on Monday 1 June from 6 am.

The most visible changes for customers have been made to the lobby and café areas, as well as the changing rooms and sauna facilities. In addition, the project involved repairing structural damage to the swimming pool and preventing further damage. At the same time, the building services were upgraded, the surfaces in the changing rooms, sauna and pool areas were refurbished, and energy efficiency was improved.

Accessibility in the swimming pool facilities has been further improved; for example, all signage has been updated. Guide lines have been added to the floors of the changing rooms and pool areas to make it easier to navigate the facilities. Separate shower cubicles with doors have been installed in the changing rooms to improve privacy. Swimsuits may now be worn in the changing rooms and sauna if desired.

Refurbishment work at the main entrance, the ticket office, and in the café and lobby areas will make it easier to move around. The improvements are expected to make visiting the venue smoother and enhance the customer experience.

– We hope that the swimming pool will be an accessible and barrier-free place for everyone to enjoy physical activity, and that every visitor feels welcome here, says swimming pool manager Pasi-Jussi Hyytinen.

New products and services encourage children and families to take up swimming

The swimming pool is placing greater emphasis on teaching children and families to swim. New packages have been added to the pool’s price list to encourage families and children to swim.

Thanks to the children’s swimming pass, primary school children will now be able to swim at a very affordable price. The swimming pass, which is aimed at children aged 8–13, is valid for 120 days and costs just €20.

Family tickets have been revamped, and their prices have been reduced relative to other products. For example, one adult and 1–2 children (aged 7–17) can swim for €10.10. A family ticket for two adults and 1–3 children costs €15. Children under the age of 7 can swim for free when accompanied by an adult.

– We want to focus even more on helping children learn to swim, as swimming is a vital skill to master during childhood. By offering affordable products, we aim to make it easier for families with children to visit the swimming pool more often, says Pasi-Jussi Hyytinen.

Swimming lessons for schoolchildren are being expanded to help children develop their swimming skills. Previously, swimming lessons in Tuusula were organised for pupils in Years 1–5. From autumn 2026, swimming lessons will form part of the physical education curriculum for all years of primary school. In addition, water rescue days open to everyone will be organised at the swimming pool in future.
