If you do not put your hold on hold and the item arrives for pickup but you are unable to pick it up, you will lose your place in the hold queue. Once the item has arrived at the library for pickup, you can no longer put the hold on hold, and the staff cannot extend the pickup time for the hold. In the worst case, you’ll have to go back to the end of the reservation queue.

So remember to temporarily pause your reservations while you’re on vacation to avoid this from happening!

You can cancel a reservation in the online library. Under “My Information,” you’ll find the “Reservations” tab, where you can select the reservations you want to cancel.

Then select “Edit Selected” and choose “Freeze (Temporarily Suspend)” from the “Temporarily Suspend Reservation” list. Specify the date until which you want to temporarily suspend the reservation, and click “Save.” Your reservation is now suspended, and you can enjoy your vacation without worrying that your reservation will arrive while you’re away!

You can also call the library’s customer service and ask them to suspend your reservation if you don’t remember your library card PIN.
