Performer details

Pikku Papu’s Orchestra’s energetic performances, acoustic instruments, harmonious singing and arrangements that play with different musical styles have won the hearts of listeners both young and old. Many people have come to know Pikku Papu’s songs from television.

Freeta is a new ensemble that creates original contemporary folk music using the violin, cello and piano. The trio’s repertoire consists of pieces composed by the members themselves, in which folk music takes on new, perhaps even unexpected forms. The ensemble explores the possibilities of the piano and string instruments, using their music to paint vivid stories. Verna Kylmänen (piano), Viive Virtanen (5-string violin) and Carolina Stenbäck (5-string cello).

Saara Törmä is an award-winning songwriter who, for 20 years, has written songs for other artists, such as Kaija Kool and Antti Tuisku. In early 2025, Törmä launched her own solo career. She released the song ‘Kääretorttu’, which became a hit. At Tuusula Day, Saara Törmä will perform her music alongside her friends. Joining Saara on stage will be, amongst others, members of the Huippu folk music ensemble – a group of talented young musicians – as well as Saara’s songwriting colleague and partner, Aku Rannila.
