Prokoulu
At Tuomala School, pupils are guided to behave in accordance with the school’s values through positive encouragement and recognition. The values of Tuomala School have been decided jointly by the children, their guardians and the school’s adult staff.
Tuomala School’s shared values: Safety, reliability and fun.
Tuomala has developed its own guidelines based on these values, which make it easy for pupils to act in accordance with shared values. The school’s adults give pupils positive feedback and reward them for acting in accordance with the Prokoulu values. Prokoulu badges are collected in the classrooms, which the class can then redeem for various rewards at the school.
Tuomala School also collects Prokoulu stars for the entire school, which can be used to ea prizes for the whole school.

Supporting pupils
The lea ing and schooling of Tuomala School pupils is supported through cooperation between several professionals. The school’s student welfare representatives, school nurse, school counsellor, family counsellor and school psychologist work together with the school principal and special education teacher to form a multi-professional student welfare team (OHR).
The student welfare team is responsible for supporting high-quality basic education and a good school day, as well as organising and providing students with support related to school attendance when needed.
Parents can request support from the student welfare team for matters of conce by contacting their child’s teacher or members of the student welfare team. At Tuomala School, pupils can also contact student welfare services by placing a request in the post box next to the staff room.
School meals and special diets for pupils
Our school offers a vegetarian option every day. The
school lunch menus are available on the Matilda Menu website(switch to another service).
Parents of pupils must inform the school nurse of any special dietary requirements. The nurse will forward this information to the municipal food services. Please note that special diets can be implemented two days after the school kitchen has received the notification.
Read the Tuusula municipality’s guidelines on special diets!
School health care
School health care supports the growth and development of children and young people and aims to contribute to the development of values and attitudes that promote health. Health examinations are carried out annually for pupils, and health monitoring visits are carried out as necessary. If necessary, the school nurse provides acute care to pupils who fall ill during the school day and administers first aid in the event of accidents. However, actual medical care is not part of school health care but is provided at health centres.
School nurse Susanna Korva: contact via Wilma, email susanna.korva@keusote.fi or telephone 050 497 0030.
Dental care for primary school pupils
All pupils in grades 1, 3 and 5 will undergo an oral health examination and receive a treatment plan at the PopUp dental clinic at the school.
In addition, pupils are invited to dental clinics for oral health examinations according to their individual needs.
If your child needs treatment, your home will be notified of the treatment time. Follow-up treatments are always carried out at the dental clinic. Parents are responsible for transporting their children to the dental clinic.
Emergency dental services
Emergency dental services for those requiring urgent treatment (e.g. accidents, pain) operate by appointment and always require contacting the centralised dental care appointment service on 019 226 0700.

Parents are advised to check for any lost property when visiting the school. The lost property office is cleared twice a year. This is done after the Christmas and spring celebrations, so parents are advised to check the lost property office at the latest during these celebrations.
More valuable items, such as watches, jewellery, keys and mobile phones, are taken to the school staff room.
