Landscape architecture competition for public areas in Hyrylä town centre
The municipality of Tuusula is organising a design competition for the general plan for public areas in the centre of Hyrylä, Tuusula, in cooperation with the Finnish Association of Landscape Architects (MARK). The competition will be held as an invitation-only competition among those who have registered for the competition and those who have been selected from among them.

The aim is to create a vibrant, accessible, functional, green and pleasant outdoor space that is feasible to implement in the Garrison Square, Esikunnanpuisto Park, the underpass connecting them and other public areas in the study area. The outdoor space serves as a recreational area and attraction in the centre of Hyrylä.
The competition entry must be feasible and usable as a basis for further planning. The solution must support the vitality of the city centre and the operation of private services, the cultural and historical values of the area, and the diversity of activities in a sustainable manner. It is also essential to take into account the age-friendliness, child-friendliness and accessibility of the area.
