“The cultural sponsorship enables me to focus on writing both the audio novel and the music in peace. I am excited about this opportunity to devote myself solely to these projects for a while,” says Maaria Nuoranne.

Drummer and music teacher Tuomas Rauhala is undertaking a study trip to learn drumming from leading European teachers with the support of a mentor.

Application period for Tuusula culture and sports mentors in January

The application period for Tuusula culture and sports sponsorship is 1–31 January each year, as is the application period for other grants. In 2025, the sponsorship grant will be €18,000.

The following persons are eligible to apply for Tuusula cultural and sports sponsorship: 

• The applicant is studying, pursuing a hobby or training purposefully in their own field.  
• The applicant undertakes to participate in events designated by the municipality and to promote the visibility of the municipality of Tuusula in accordance with the strategy, taking into account the scope of the agreement. 
• Applicants should attach to their free-form application a description of their career and goals, the costs incurred by their activities, and a statement describing their success in their field, written by an educational institution, background organisation, sports association, etc.   

The value of the Tuusula Culture and Sports Sponsorship Agreement is approximately €500–2,000 if the applicant is a nationally recognised or successful artist or athlete aged 13–20 from Tuusula. The
value of the Tuusula Culture and Sports Sponsorship Agreement is approximately €1,000–10,000 if the applicant is over 21 years of age and is an internationally accomplished or successful artist or athlete from Tuusula or who promotes Tuusula. 

The municipality of Tuusula will enter into a written agreement with applicants who have been granted godparent support. The agreement will be valid for a maximum of one year at a time.  

The municipal council decided on the matter at its meeting on 18 November 2024.
