Summer activities for children and young people
In the summer of 2026, Tuusula will be hosting a wide range of activities for children and young people during the school holidays. Check out our tips and come along!
The youngest members of the family can look forward to activities with their parents at the early years education centre’s open family sessions. The family rooms are open during the summer from 1 to 17 June and offer a wide range of opportunities for families to get together.
You can take part in swimming lessons at the summer swimming schools held at the Tuusula swimming pool. Registration for the swimming schools is now open.
Summer clubs for pupils in Years 1–3 are scheduled to take place during the first three weeks of June. The summer clubs will be held at Pertun, Kellokoski, Tuusulanjärvi, Rykmentinpuisto, Vaunukangas and Riihikallio schools. Registration is open until 24 May.
The art school’s summer courses take place both indoors and outdoors, offering a comprehensive introduction to various art techniques and materials for children aged 7–13.
Summer activities organised by Youth Services are on the cards for young people. In addition to the open-access activities at youth centres, there will be outreach youth work, family days and various camps and excursions, for which registration is now open. Free meals in the park are available in South Tuusula at Kotkanpuisto in Riihikallio from 2 June to 19 June and at Tuusulanjärvi School from 2 June to 1 August, in Notkopuisto, Jokela, from 2 June to 1 August, and in Björkenheim Park, Roinila, Kellokoski, from 2 June to 1 August. The park meals are intended for all children and young people under the age of 18 living in Tuusula, and food is served outdoors on weekdays from 11.30 am to 12 noon. There will also be a fun programme of activities.
