Noisy track work at night in Jokela
A retaining wall is being built in Jokela as part of the Helsinki–Riihimäki railway project. In connection with the construction of the retaining wall, piling work will be carried out in the area at night from 24 May onwards. This phase of the work may cause noise disturbance for local residents.
Noisy work will be carried out in two short periods:
- on the nights between Sunday and Monday and between Monday and Tuesday, 24–26 May
- on the nights between Monday and Tuesday and between Tuesday and Wednesday, 1–3 June
– The noisy work alongside the tracks will have to be carried out at night, as train services on the main line cannot be suspended during the day. We understand that this phase of the work will cause inconvenience to local residents. The retaining wall currently being built will enable the construction of the Blennerintie bridge, which will pass under the railway line. The bridge construction can be carried out mainly during the day, says Project Manager Riitta Parviainen from the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency.
The work area is located on the railway land between Jokelantie and Jokela Prison. The area is marked on the map below.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency apologises for any inconvenience caused by the works and thanks local residents for their patience during the construction work.
