Early childhood education
The reduced services in South Tuusula will be provided at the Tuusulanjärvi Day Care Centre from 22 June to 2 August. Drop-in care will also be available. Please note: The playground at the Tuusulanjärvi Day Care Centre will be for the exclusive use of the day care centre during the reduced services next summer (due to drop-in care).
Reduced services in the Jokela area will be provided at the Peltokaari nursery from 22 June to 2 August.
Reduced services in the Kellokoski area will be provided at the Roinila nursery from 22 June to 2 August.
Eating in the park
This summer, outdoor dining in Tuusula will take place as follows:
- In Kotkanpuisto, South Tuusula, from 1 to 18 June, and at Tuusulanjärvi School from 1 June to 31 July.
- In Jokela, at Notkopuisto from 1 to 18 June and at Lilly Kajanus-Blenner Park from 22 June to 31 July
- At Björkenheim Park in Kellokoski, 1 June–31 July
Meals are served on weekdays in June and July from 11.30 am to 12 noon, or until the food runs out. Around 80 portions are prepared per dining venue. A hot main course is served daily. Drinks or special dietary options are not available. If necessary, any leftover food is also distributed to others who wish to have it.
There is no need to register in advance for the picnic. We ask participants to bring their own cutlery, as well as a plate and a drink.
Building Control
The technical helpdesk will be available throughout the summer holiday period, almost as usual.
During the summer holiday period, the service is mainly available online or by telephone; appointments must be arranged separately.
The digitisation of old licences will be suspended from 8 July to 4 August. During this period, there will be delays in processing times.
Licence processing and licence decisions
The processing of planning applications will not be suspended during the summer holidays, but staff taking leave will inevitably affect the preparation of projects. We ask applicants for their patience. Applications are being prepared for decision in the order in which they were received. However, we aim to adhere to the processing times set out in the Building Act.
Decisions on planning permission applications submitted under the Land Use and Building Act are made on Wednesdays, whilst decisions on applications submitted under the Building Act are made on every working day of the week.
Please note the licence inspectors’ office hours and book an appointment separately if necessary.
Supervision during construction
Kick-off meetings, structural inspections and final inspections will be carried out throughout the summer holiday period, albeit with fewer staff than usual. Please bear this in mind when planning your schedules.
The prolonged absence of the HVAC inspector has led to a temporary arrangement regarding building services inspections, whereby official supervision will focus on the early stages of construction. External water and drainage inspections of the property will be carried out by the water supply manager from Tuusulan Vesi. These inspections will take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons each week. However, no inspections will be carried out between 29 June and 16 July, or between 27 July and 14 August. You can find more details about the temporary arrangements on our website
Social and health services
You can find the summer opening hours for social and health services on the Central Uusimaa Welfare Region (Keusote) website.
Community Library
Residents, organisations and associations can borrow the equipment they need for events free of charge from the community lending service throughout the summer. You can find an up-to-date list of items and booking instructions via the link below.
Please remember to order the items you need for your summer events well in advance, as there may be delays in processing times compared to the usual two working days.
You can access the joint library using an access pass, which you can collect from the TuusInfo desk once you have received your booking confirmation. Please note that TuusInfo has different opening hours during the summer, as detailed at the start of this guide.
Other services and events
If a particular service is not listed here, please check its opening hours on its own website. This list may be updated during the summer. You can
find out more about Tuusula’s wide range of events in the Tuusula events calendar.

We wish all our residents and summer visitors a warm and sunny summer!
