At its seminar on 7–8 October 2026, the Tuusula Municipal Council began its deliberations on the Mayor’s draft budget for 2027. The mayor’s proposal, published on 30 September 2026, is designed to balance the budget, and the intention is to continue this balancing process resolutely throughout the financial planning period. At the council seminar, this approach was deemed to be the right one.

Tuusula Municipality’s 2027 budget is virtually balanced, and the tax rate remains unchanged. This balanced result has been achieved by taking a critical look at expenditure and investments. Efforts to balance the budget will continue throughout the financial planning period, primarily through structural changes. Work on this has already begun.

The Municipal Executive Committee met on Monday 28 September 2026.

Based on the results, elected representatives are, on the whole, satisfied with the work of the institutions. The overall ratings for the work of the committees ranged from 3.8 to 4.4 on a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 indicates a very poor rating and 5 a very good one. The highest overall ratings were given to the Education and Culture Committee, the Technical Committee and the Building Control Sub-committee (4.4). The Council’s overall rating was 3.9.

The headline of the Keski-Uusimaa news article, “Emails reveal: Tuusula asked a communications agency for help in keeping the data centre project secret” On 23 September 2026, in our view, this gave the misleading impression that we had sought to conceal matters.
