Accessible library
Library services are open to everyone. We collaborate with Celia and the Multilingual Library to make services more accessible to all. We also offer home services to residents of Tuusula who have difficulty getting around due to disability, illness or age, for example.

Home service
The library’s home service delivers materials and services directly to the customer’s home. It is intended for Tuusula residents with reduced mobility who are unable to visit the library due to disability, illness or age. The home service promotes equal access to library services for all residents.
The library’s home service is free of charge and tailored to the customer’s needs.
Through the home service, you can borrow materials from all Kirkes libraries (Tuusula, Kerava, Järvenpää, Mäntsälä).
Register by filling in the form available at the link below or obtain it from your health centre, home care service or social and disability services. You can also register by telephone or email.
The person in charge of home care services is department head Minna Nevanen.

Celia Library for the visually impaired
Celian’s audiobook services are intended for anyone who has difficulty reading printed text due to a disability, illness or other reason.
You can sign up for Celia’s free audiobook service at your local library.
You can join the service at the library without a medical certificate – a verbal notification is sufficient.
Once you have joined the service, you will have access to a collection of over 40,000 audiobooks. Celia’s service is online, so you will need an internet connection and a device such as a computer, smartphone or tablet to listen to the audiobooks.
Ask for advice from the library’s customer service.
Celia is a centre of expertise in accessible literature and publishing that promotes equality in reading and learning. Celia produces and distributes literature in accessible formats, such as audiobooks and Braille, in collaboration with libraries and publishers. Celia is part of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Digital guides in libraries
Libraries offer guidance on using their online services and equipment, searching for information, and basic use of your own device. We will assist you to the best of our ability.
Enter ry and Lions Club offer IT guidance, providing advice and assistance on using electronic services and computers, mobile phones, tablets and other mobile devices.
The Enter ry IT association for older people offers peer guidance to seniors on the use of IT equipment and services at the main library and Jokela library.
Lions Club volunteers will guide you in using computers, tablets and smartphones at the main library. No appointment is necessary; just drop in.
You can find more information about guided tours and tour times on the municipality’s Digital support page.
