Library fees and compensation

Late fees from 1 January 2025:

• Late fee (excluding children’s collection): 0,50 € / item / week
• Short term loan: 0,50 € / item / day
• Overdue reminder fee: €2 per item
• The maximum payment for late fees: 40 € / borrower if all loans are returned or renewed at one time, and late fees are paid at the same library visit
• Maximum overdue fee: €5 per loan.

Late fees and overdue reminder fees are collected for items not returned by the due date. Late fees start accruing the day after the due date. Only overdue reminder fees are charged for children’s materials.

The late fee will be collected even if renewing loans online was unsuccessful due to a connection or other technical failure. Late fees must also be paid if the due date reminder was not received, for example, due to email settings or an incorrect mailing address.

Fee for uncollected reservations: From 1 January 2025: €2 for items that are reserved but not picked up (only for customers who are 15 or over).

Library card fees:

• first card: free of charge
• New card to replace a lost one: €3.00 for adults, free for children under 15.

Replacement of lost or damaged material:

• DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD: €35 /item
• magazines for adults: €5 /item
• Children’s and youth magazines: €3 /item
• other materials (e.g. books, console games): full purchase price.

Customers may also compensate for a lost or damaged item by bringing in a replacement copy. Exceptions: DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K Ultra HDs cannot be replaced with a new copy due to copyright issues. Replacement costs are non-refundable.

Interlibrary loan fees

• RATAMO loan fee €2 per loan
• interlibrary loan fee €8/remote loan
• Remote service copy fee €1 per article + €0.20 per page

When borrowing from abroad, the customer pays all costs associated with the order.

Meeting rooms at the main library

Residents of Tuusula and associations, clubs and other communities operating in Tuusula:

• Meeting room Laura – free of charge
• Einari meeting room – free of charge.

Commercial or business activities, pursuit of a trade, non-local operators, private events and unused reservations:

• Conference room Laura €18/hour
• Meeting room Einari €18/hour
• daily rate 3 x hourly rate.

Research rooms at the main library

• €5 per day or per visit
• €20 per week
• €50 per month.

Black and white prints:

• A4, single-sided €0.20
• A4, double-sided €0.40
• A3, single-sided €0.40
• A3, double-sided €0.80.

Colour prints:

• A4, single-sided €0.40
• A4, double-sided €0.80
• A3, single-sided €0.80
• A3, double-sided €1.60.

Laminating pouches:

• A6, A5 and A4 size €0.20 each
• A3-size €0.40 each.

Vinyl and sticker materials: €0.50 / 10 centimetres
