Consultation as support for schooling
The consultation is intended for all schools in the neighbouring municipalities that offer basic education and preschool units.
The consultation is aimed in particular at pupils with psychological symptoms, where the difficulties relate, for example, to behavioural regulation, bullying, school absenteeism and mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression or self-destructive behaviour.
No healthcare contact is required to obtain a consultation.
Early intervention can prevent problems from accumulating and the student becoming marginalised.
Hospital education consultation work is carried out in collaboration with the guardian, the student’s own school, student welfare services and, if necessary, a multi-professional network.
Consultation can take the form of outreach work, telephone consultation or participation in meetings on site or remotely.
We do not provide telephone consultations without a completed consultation authorisation form.
An invoice is issued to the student’s home municipality for the consultation based on the actual costs incurred. Consultation costs are invoiced to the municipalities twice a year.
Consultation is required by law (Basic Education Act, Section 4a).
A request for consultation may be initiated by the pupil’s guardian, teachers, pupil welfare staff, the treating authority or any other party working with the pupil.
