To the guardian of a pupil at Vanhankylä School

You can find instructions on how to enrol your child in the first grade under Enrolling in school.

If you are moving to the vicinity of Vanhankylä School, please contact the school principal.

Guardians can create Wilma accounts for themselves when registering their child for the first grade. The other parent can request a key code from the school secretary to create an account.

If a pupil changes schools during their comprehensive school education, you will automatically receive the necessary key code from the school secretary when you enrol at the school.

The Vanhis ry parents’ association at Vanhankylä School organises various events, with the proceeds going towards excursions and teaching days.

Events include a Halloween party and Christmas market, and products sold include eggs and delicacies.

The funds will also be used to purchase new equipment for children’s outdoor and indoor games, xylitol pastilles after meals, and scholarships awarded at graduation ceremonies.

Vanhis ry also promotes community spirit around our small school, and its activities provide an opportunity to meet other parents. The association has a board, which is elected once a year at the autumn meeting. The board members are responsible for the association’s activities and related matters.

Pupils at Vanhankylä School are entitled to school transport due to the dangerous nature of Vanhankylä School Road. School transport is granted by the school principal and can be applied for using the Wilma form.

Some of the pupils live along the HSL bus route and travel to school by bus. Some of the pupils travel by taxi.

Parents dropping off their children should use the staff car park so that there is space for taxis and buses at the bus stop. Cars are not allowed on the school grounds.

Guardians can apply for temporary absence for pupils from the class teacher or head teacher in Wilma under “Applications and decisions”.

Any absence from school lasting more than three days must be requested from the head teacher.

Sick leave must be reported via Wilma.
