ProSchool

ProKoulu is a joint operating model for the entire school, in which we strive to guide pupils towards good behaviour through positive feedback. We practise a new skill every month, thereby building our good behaviour skills together. Our ProKoulu activities are guided by the values of safety, fai ess and lea ing.

In shared spaces, the canteen and during lessons, we behave in accordance with the shared rules of conduct.

Meals at Tuusulanjärvi School

Pupils are offered a hot meal every day at school. We eat at Restaurant Lounatuuli between 10:20 and 12:00.

The school canteen has dining tables of various sizes with chairs.

During school meals, we practise tasting different foods, and it is important that everyone takes at least a little bit of each food on their plate. When serving food, we also practise using the plate model. Good table manners, the correct use of cutlery and quiet conversation with those sitting at the same table create a pleasant atmosphere for meals.

Check out the school menus on the Matilda Menu app(switch to another service).

On field trip days, pupils are given packed lunches containing, for example, a roll, fruit and juice.

Special diets for pupils

Parents are responsible for notifying the school of any special dietary requirements. Please contact the school nurse. She will forward the information about special dietary requirements to the municipal food services. Please note that the diet can be implemented two days after the notification has been received by the school kitchen.

Our school also offers a vegetarian option every day.

Read the Tuusula municipality’s guidelines on special diets!

Student welfare at Tuusulanjärvi School

In its broadest sense, student welfare work refers to all activities that support the school day and everyday student life, including taxi services, health and medical care, meals, cleaning, property maintenance, special education, support services, the organisation of teaching, and supporting the participation and community spirit of pupils and the work community.

At the heart of student welfare work is the OHR, or student welfare team, which is a multi-professional working group. The principal chairs the student welfare team. The principal, a special needs teacher with a broad range of expertise, the school psychologist, the school counsellor, the school nurse and the teacher of the class or pupil in question participate in the activities of the OHR at Tuusulanjärvi School. All classes are reviewed once a year by the student welfare team together with the class teachers. Parents are also welcome to discuss matters conce ing their own children with the OHR. The time for the discussion will be agreed separately.

The student welfare team is responsible for supporting high-quality basic education and a positive school day, promoting a culture that encourages growth and development, and organising and providing students with support related to school attendance when needed.
