Summer activities for children and young people
During the summer, we organise a wide range of activities for children and young people in Tuusula during the school holidays.

During the summer school holidays, there are all sorts of summer activities on offer for children, young people and families. We will be updating the information for summer 2026 during the spring.
Open early years education
The open early years summer programme invites pre-school children and their parents to join in activities together at the family centres.
Summer swimming lessons
Summer swimming schools offer swimming lessons. Click the link below for more information.
School summer clubs
During the first three weeks of June, we are organising fee-paying summer clubs for schools, which are open to pupils in years 1–3 living in Tuusula, as well as pupils who have at least one parent living in Tuusula.
Summer clubs are held at Pertun, Kellokoski, Tuusulanjärvi, Rykmentinpuisto, Vaunukangas and Riihikallio schools. The clubs run from 9 am to 3 pm, during which time we exercise, play and have fun both indoors and outdoors. A hot lunch and a snack are provided during the day.
The registration period is open until 24 May 2026 on the Tuusula online shop.
Summer courses at the School of Visual Arts
The art school’s summer courses take place both indoors and outdoors, offering a comprehensive introduction to various art techniques and materials for children aged 7–13.
Youth Services’ summer activities
In addition to the open-access activities at the youth centres run by Youth Services, there are various events and outings planned.
Open activities at youth centres
The Hyrylä Youth Centre and Jokela Monari are open on Mondays; Lahela Terttu on Tuesdays; Riihikallio Kertsi and Kellokoski Nuorkka on Wednesdays; Lahela Terttu and Jokela Monari on Thursdays; and the Hyrylä Youth Centre, Riihikallio Kertsi and Kellokoski Nuorkka on Fridays.
All youth centres are open from 4 pm to 8.45 pm. From 4 pm to 5.45 pm, the centres are open to young people in Years 4 to 6, and from 6 pm to 8.45 pm, they are open to those from Year 7 up to the age of 17.
Outreach youth work
Tuusula Youth Services, in collaboration with the Walkers programme run by Aseman Lapset, offers mobile youth work for young people in the form of Wauto. Since April, a Wauto called Puuma, accompanied by a few youth workers, has been travelling around Tuusula to meet young people where they spend their time.
Wauto and its youth workers will continue their activities throughout the summer, meeting young people in their own communities. As well as friendly youth workers, Wauto offers plenty of fun activities. Wauto’s activities are aimed at 10–17-year-olds.
Youth Services Family Days
Youth Services are once again organising Family Days that evoke a sense of nostalgia and bring generations together. It’s well worth bringing the whole family along, from babies to grandparents. The programme includes a barbecue, group activities in the form of outdoor games and, of course, time for a chat together and the chance to get to know the local youth workers and youth centres.
The Family Days will be held on Monday 20 July in Jokela, with the event taking place at Jokela Monari and the surrounding area. On Tuesday 21 July, the Family Days will be held in Kellokoski, on the lawn at Kellokoski Nuorka. On Wednesday 22 July, the Family Days will be held in Riihikallio, at Rihan Kertsi and the surrounding area. The schedule for the Family Days is the same each day, from 2 pm to 7 pm.
