New services, familiar content

As part of broader economic stabilisation, Keusote is planning to consolidate its network of facilities. This does not mean cutting back on services, but rather redesigning them in a new, more flexible way. The services will consist of a combination of local services, digital services and, where necessary, mobile services that will be provided where they are needed.

Each municipality will continue to have at least one social and health services point within 30 minutes’ travelling distance. In addition, people will be able to choose where they receive services across municipal boundaries. As the service needs of the population change, securing services for the elderly in particular is one of our key principles in the reform.

Clarity and better continuity for customers

The changes aim to make service provision clearer and improve service quality. When services are centralised in social and health centres, customers benefit from broader expertise and stronger multi-professional teamwork. The continuity of care will improve and service will be more flexible, for example thanks to longer opening hours. Although the distance to some services may increase slightly, this is a necessary part of balancing the economy.

To avoid this, we are investing in new ways to bring services closer to our residents, including digitally. The goal is that by the end of 2027, one-third of all services will also be available in digital form. This will make services increasingly available from the comfort of your own home, regardless of time and place.

Residents involved in the change

Keusote listens to the residents of its area and involves them in development work. The upcoming resident panel (7–17 May 2025) will provide an opportunity to discuss the changes and express opinions. Information will be provided through multiple channels, and the changes will be communicated openly and in a timely manner.

Future services will be built together

Reforming the service network is a long-term endeavour, the aim of which is to build a service package that is economically sustainable and meets the service needs of our residents.

In cooperation with residents, staff and decision-makers, Keusote is building a future service network that will serve us all – now and tomorrow.

The reform of the service network will be discussed in political bodies during the spring, and the regional council will make a decision on the matter on 22 May.
