Artists, associations, companies and communities in Tuusula offer a diverse programme throughout the municipality. Tuusula Arts Night is a community-based, politically independent event that puts artists from Tuusula and elsewhere in the spotlight. In addition to Kotorannanpuisto, the programme organised by the municipality of Tuusula includes events at Aleksis Kivi’s death cottage, Halosenniemi, Erkkola, libraries and Monio. Most of the events are free of charge.

Pre-concert at Aleksis Kivi’s death cottage

The fourth pre-concert is a unique and unforgettable intimate concert experience, where the audience and artist interact closely with each other in a magnificent setting. This year’s performer is the acclaimed and award-winning alternative folk artist Piia Viitanen, who will be performing solo at 5 pm.

At 7 p.m., the Tuusula Male Choir will perform at Aleksis Kivi’s cottage. Aleksis Kivi’s cottage will be open all evening until 10 p.m.

Cultural programme for families in Kotorannanpuisto Park

The Tuusula Arts Night event at Kotorannanpuisto Park will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. (Kotorannankuja 10, Tuusula). The stage area will feature a variety of performances and a lively atmosphere. Halosenniemi’s exhibition “Under the Parisian Sky – Artists’ French Themes” presents paintings by Finnish artists from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, created during their years of study in France.

Monio participates in the Night of the Arts

A fabric flower workshop will be held at Monio from 5 to 6.30 pm. From 5 to 7 pm, visitors can try their hand at drawing nude models in the Croquis quick drawing workshop, make pottery in the ceramics room based on a common theme, and try out different drawing tools in the graphics room.

Kellokoski and Jokela serve up the power of the north

Kellokoski Ironworks has been a very popular destination during Tuusula Arts Night for the past couple of years. This year, there will once again be a wonderful selection of culture, performances and hands-on activities on offer. The programme includes live music, dance, ballet and acrobatics, as well as poetry, visual arts and photography. This year, Kellokoski will also host Kellorock on the Männistö stage. Nine local performers will take to the stage during the evening.

Jokela Library invites families to enjoy singing, dancing and playing when children’s music group Henna ja Supersankarit performs at the library at 6 p.m.

The brick factory will host spoken word performances in the form of Nykyposti, as well as a mentalist show by Kalle Tahkola that will test the limits of your imagination.

Getting around during Tuusula Arts Night

Please arrive at the event venues primarily on foot, by bicycle or by free event buses.
The municipality organises non-stop bus transport from Järvenpää railway station to Hyrylä bus station, as well as event buses from Hyrylä bus station to Kellokoski and Jokela. The buses will stop at all stops as necessary to pick up and drop off passengers. The transport schedules will be published later online at tuusula.fi/taiteidenyo.

As in previous years, Tuusulan Rantatie is not part of the event area and is therefore not closed to traffic. When travelling to museums, traffic regulations must be observed. Particular caution should be exercised in the Kirkkotie area due to pedestrians.
