Tuusula Arts Night will take place on Friday 7 August from 6 pm to 10 pm. Events are taking place in South Tuusula, Jokela and Kellokoski. In South Tuusula, events will take place at venues including Aleksis Kivi’s death cottage, Halosenniemi, Erkkola, Gustavelund, the Lotta Museum, the swimming pool, and the premises of artists, associations and businesses. The main hub of the programme organised by Tuusula Municipality is Kotorannanpuisto Park. Rantatie is not part of the event area and will not be closed to traffic.

In Jokela, events are taking place at both the Jokela Library and the Brickworks. In the Kellokoski Ironworks area, there are events taking place both in the alleyways and indoors. Admission is free to most of the events. Free event buses run between the various town centres in Järvenpää and Tuusula, making it easy to get to the events. Timetables will be available in July on the Tuusula Night of the Arts website.

“It’s worth taking a look at the extensive programme well in advance so you can find the events you definitely want to see at Tuusula Arts Night,” says Janne Raudaskoski, cultural producer for the municipality of Tuusula.

On the shores of Lake Tuusula, in Kotorannanpuisto Park, visitors experience a range of emotions and draw strength from art

The Kotorannanpuisto event brings people of all ages together to enjoy a late summer evening. On the shores of Lake Tuusulanjärvi, you can draw inspiration from art, music, dance, circus performances and simply being together.

The park event will feature, among others, Wimme & Rinne – who have conquered international world music charts and concert stages with their joik singing and stunning soundscapes – as well as the internationally acclaimed Jimi Tenor and Nössö Nova, a rising star known for their unforgettable live performances. The programme also includes classical music gems, a spectacular circus for the whole family, a site-specific dance piece bursting with energy, stage design and light art, as well as plenty of other activities. You can get hands-on in the workshops in the event’s Verstas area. The restaurant area offers delicacies and international flavours to suit every taste.

The pre-event concert at Kotorannapuisto will take place in the grounds of Aleksis Kivi’s final home from 5 pm. This year’s performer for the traditional solo concert is the legendary Kauko Röyhkä.
