The microbiological quality of swimming waters in Central Uusimaa is good
On 4 June 2026, the Central Uusimaa Environment Centre took the first water quality samples of the summer from the beaches in Järvenpää, Mäntsälä, Nurmijärvi and Tuusula in accordance with the monitoring plan. The samples were tested for Escherichia coli and faecal enterococci. The microbiological quality of the swimming water met the quality requirements set for bathing water.
Registration to exhibit at the Tuusula Leisure Fair 2026 is open throughout the summer
The Tuusula-wide Leisure Fair will be held at Riihikallio School on 25 August 2026 from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Sign up to be a exhibitor by 9 August 2026!
The swimming season in Tuusula begins on 2 June.
There are a total of five official bathing areas in Tuusula, all of which are maintained by the local council. These are Häklin beach, Rusutjärvi beach, Tuusula Sports Centre beach, Jokela beach and Kellokoski beach.
The popular Ruukki Triathlon is taking place once again
The popular triathlon event will take place in Kellokoski on Sunday 31 May, when Järvenpään Pyöräilijät bring the Ruukki Triathlon to the village’s beautiful surroundings for the third time.
Registration for the summer swimming lessons opens on Thursday 21 May at 5.00 pm
In the summer of 2026, we will be offering swimming lessons for children at the refurbished Tuusula Swimming Pool, spread over three sessions. A new addition this year is a swimming course for teenagers. We will also be organising a beginners’ swimming course for adults in August.
Three new sponsored athletes for Tuusula
Tuusula has agreed to support promising young athletes through sponsorship agreements. With the municipality's support, the young athletes’ careers are being nurtured and Tuusula’s profile is being raised.
Tuusula is giving middle-distance running a boost!
Mayor Janne Mellin and track and field athlete Joonas Kumpulainen signed a sponsorship agreement today, under which Tuusula Municipality will support Kumpulainen’s sporting career. The agreement forms part of the municipality’s support for promising young athletes.
The Tuusulanjärvi Marathon will take place again on 25 April 2026
The Tuusulanjärvi Marathon, which has been held since 1994, will take place once again on Saturday 26 April 2025 against the backdrop of Lake Tuusulanjärvi. Other running events are also on offer, and you can still register on the day.

A section of the new Satakielenraitti is opening at the southern end of Lake Tuusulanjärvi
The first part of the outdoor trail built at the southern end of Lake Tuusulanjärvi will be opened to walkers today, April 2. The entire trail, named Satakielenraitti will be open in the fall after the bird nesting season ends.
