The Year of the Baby in Tuusula
Tuusula is a municipality for families with children. Last year was a boom year for births in Tuusula, with a total of 410 children born in the municipality. That figure is almost a fifth higher than the previous year. Last year, we visited the Sallinen family, who had recently welcomed a new addition. In Tuusula, you can get into the Christmas spirit at various events. There are concerts, fairs, craft evenings, workshops and much more on offer.
The municipality of Tuusula supports families with children in paying for leisure activities through associations.
Hobby subsidies can be applied for by associations, through which the support is then directed to families in need of special assistance.
Children and young people have their say at the mayor's question time on 19 November – follow the broadcast live!
Pupils from Rykmentinpuisto School will ask questions from children and young people in Tuusula about municipal governance and other topics of concern during the mayor's question time on Wednesday 19 November from 9.15 to 10.15 a.m. The event is part of Tuusula Children's Rights Week. Those interested can follow the question time via livestream.
Children and young people's experiences of being heard during Children's Rights Week
Children's Rights Week will be celebrated this autumn from 17 to 23 November. The theme of the week, 'Children have the right to be heard', reminds us of the right of children and young people to belong to a community and to be seen and heard. The theme will be highlighted throughout the week in daycare centres, schools and leisure activities. Let's give children and young people a voice!
