In a child-friendly municipality, children’s voices are heard even before construction begins – the traffic park is being designed based on children’s wishes

Tuusula’s new traffic park is being built based on the children’s own wishes. In workshops held in March, children had the chance to design the future park’s features using Lego, drawing and brainstorming. The results provide designers with valuable insight into what kind of environment best serves children.

Volunteers as part of everyday community life in early years education

Early years education in Tuusula is supported by a fantastic group of volunteers. Volunteers bring warmth, joy and meaningful interactions to everyday life in early years education. In nurseries, shared activities between children of different ages – from woolly-sock walks to forest granny outings and story times with reading grannies – build bridges between generations and strengthen children’s wellbeing, sense of belonging and connection with nature.
