A stormwater charge will be introduced in the zoned area from autumn 2026
From autumn 2026, Tuusula Municipality will levy a stormwater charge on properties located within the area covered by the local plan.

Children and young people’s views and experiences influence environmental planning – a toolkit has been developed to support participation
Tuusula’s ‘Child-Friendly Municipality’ initiative promotes opportunities for children and young people to have a say in the planning of their local environment. The participation toolkit, developed by the Growth and Environment Division, provides experts with tools to ensure that the voices of children and young people are heard more clearly than ever before.
A survey of the street and road environment is being carried out in Tuusula
Photography of the streets and roads in Tuusula, commissioned by the municipality, will begin on Monday 13 April. The photographs will be taken from a vehicle with photographic equipment mounted on the roof. The photography work will continue until 10 May.
Aerial photography of the Eastern Railway line are set to begin
Aerial surveys of the proposed route for the Eastern Railway Line between the Helsinki metropolitan area and Kymenlaakso will be carried out in the coming weeks. The aircraft conducting the aerial surveys may attract people’s attention, as it will be flying relatively low, at an altitude of around 600 metres.
Construction work on additional tracks begins between Purola and Nuppulinna
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency's Helsinki–Riihimäki railway project will see the construction of additional tracks between Purola and Nuppulinna begin in January 2026. The work is expected to continue until the end of 2028.
The public works department is on holiday
The operations of the municipal engineering service area will slow down during the Christmas holidays, and the festive season around Christmas and New Year will affect the availability of municipal engineering staff.
Proposed extension plan for Pakkasraitti pedestrian and cycle path on display
The draft plan for the extension of the Pakkasraitti pedestrian and cycle path will be on display from 13 to 26 November 2025 at the TuusInfo customer service premises during opening hours. The proposal can also be viewed on the municipality's map service.
