Aleksis Kivi Day is celebrated in Tuusula
Friday, 10 October, is Aleksis Kivi and Finnish Literature Day. In Tuusula, Aleksis Kivi is traditionally commemorated with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tuusula churchyard. Everyone is welcome to celebrate our national author. Aleksis Kivi's death cottage will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in honour of the holiday.

In the mayor's budget for 2026, Tuusula will balance its income and expenditure by seeking savings and raising municipal tax moderately. The municipality remains vibrant and will continue with its planned investments in the service network.
Tuusula and Keusote selected YIT as the contractor for the social and health services centre project
The Tuusula municipal council and the Central Uusimaa welfare region regional council have selected YIT Rakennus Oy to build the social and health services centre planned for Hyrylä. Once completed, the centre will serve all residents in the welfare region.
Use of the Suomi.fi messaging service expands in Kirkes libraries
The use of the Suomi.fi messaging service will be expanded in all Kirkes libraries so that customers can also receive all library messages via the Suomi.fi messaging service. The expansion of the messaging service does not require any changes from existing customers.
A couple of hundred proposals were generated during the first brainstorming days for children and young people – the search for ideas continues until 19 October.
The participatory budgeting (PBF) round for children and young people in Tuusula began on Monday, 29 September with a brainstorming session. On the first day, children and young people came up with 34 proposals during their lessons that could be used to increase well-being and comfort in Tuusula.
