Speeding, mobile phones and carelessness threaten road safety in Central Uusimaa
The biggest problems identified in the area's traffic safety survey were speeding, inattentiveness and disregard for traffic rules. Based on the responses, unsafe pedestrian crossings, dangerous intersections, poor visibility and heavy traffic cause the most problems. Solutions will be sought in the traffic safety plan to be completed in the spring.
Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency provides information on the Helsinki-Riihimäki railway project: Work will be carried out on the railway line in Ainola during Easter – work in June-August will cause changes to train services in the Järvenpää area
Summer 2025 will be the busiest year of construction for the Helsinki-Riihimäki railway project to date. The project, which focuses on improving the reliability of train traffic and reducing susceptibility to disruptions, will see the construction of a new platform in Ainola begin in the spring and summer, the launch of additional tracks in Purola-Nuppulinna, and commissioning inspections of the Järvenpää safety system will be carried out.
