Aunela was bustling with activity at the opening – suggest a name for the new meeting place
The Aunela community centre in Hyrylä was filled with cheerful chatter on Tuesday 24 March, as the opening ceremony was held for the municipality’s new meeting place, which is open to everyone. There was no shortage of visitors, and plenty of enthusiastic ideas for activities emerged straight away.
A new meeting place in Hyrylä, open to everyone – come along!
On 24 March, Tuusula Municipality will open a new, accessible community centre in the Hyrylä community space, Aunela. Aunela is located at Jääkärinpolku 1, 04300 Tuusula.
Children and young people's active lifestyles take centre stage at joint seminars in Tuusula, Kerava and Järvenpää
Tuusula's pre-primary and primary education will promote a more active lifestyle among children and young people with the amendment to the Basic Education Act, which will come into force next autumn. Preparations for the future have begun in collaboration with Kerava and Järvenpää.
The Wellbeing Promoters of the Year 2025 have been selected
The organisers of the Goodwill Christmas event, Noora Maaninka-Matikainen, the Tuusula branch of the Finnish Red Cross, and the sheep grazing in Tuusula were selected as the 2025 Tuusula Wellbeing Promoters of the Year. The selection was announced on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, at an event held at Rykmentin Talo.

The Tuusula Wellbeing and Health Promotion Committee is looking for a wellbeing promoter for 2025. Submit your suggestion by 30 November.
The municipality of Tuusula supports families with children in paying for leisure activities through associations.
Hobby subsidies can be applied for by associations, through which the support is then directed to families in need of special assistance.
