From stone masons to loggers – exhibition opens in Halosenniemi
The exhibition opening on 4 February in Halosenniemi presents commissioned works and public art painted by Pekka Halonen. The name of the exhibition derives from two well-known commissioned works by Pekka Halonen: the wall fresco Kivityömiehiä (Stone Masons, 1903) in the vestibule of Sigrid Jusélius's mausoleum and the painting Tukinuittajat (Loggers, 1925), commissioned by the League of Nations in Geneva. Pekka Halonen also painted portraits and book illustrations and participated in competitions for church altarpieces.

Planning of municipal facilities for new social and health centre progresses – accessibility and versatility of facilities are important to residents
Forty residents planned the municipal facilities for the social and health centre in a workshop held on 21 January. In addition to social and health facilities and reception areas, the social and health centre being built in Hyrylä will also include a bus station waiting area and a meeting room.
Children and young people's active lifestyles take centre stage at joint seminars in Tuusula, Kerava and Järvenpää
Tuusula's pre-primary and primary education will promote a more active lifestyle among children and young people with the amendment to the Basic Education Act, which will come into force next autumn. Preparations for the future have begun in collaboration with Kerava and Järvenpää.

Between 3 and 23 November 2025, the municipality of Tuusula conducted a survey to gauge the satisfaction of Tuusula residents and the awareness of Tuusula among people living in neighbouring areas. Tuusula private road subsidies can be applied for between 2 February and 6 April 2026.
The municipality of Tuusula provides annual assistance for the maintenance of private roads maintained by organised road associations in Tuusula, within the limits of the budget allocated for this purpose. The municipality can only provide assistance to organised road associations. In 2026, EUR 50,000 has been allocated in the budget for private road assistance.
Pedestrian safety to be improved in Jokela
The safety of road users crossing at pedestrian crossings is being improved in Jokela with the use of warning capsules, or Välky. The device warns drivers of vehicles approaching the pedestrian crossing by flashing a light. Investing in pedestrian crossing safety is particularly important in areas located near schools.
The Skidiviikko programme has been published – free children's culture events throughout the municipality
Skidiviikko takes over Tuusula with children's culture from 2 to 7 March. The week will feature a diverse and exciting programme of performing arts, with no fewer than 22 performances scheduled. Registration for the performances begins on Wednesday 11 February at 9 a.m. The week culminates in Children's Saturday on 7 March in Jokela.
