Tuusula's Child-Friendly Municipality network expands
Increasing child-friendliness in Tuusula is a joint effort by many actors. Local associations and clubs play an important role in the work to make the municipality child-friendly. At a discussion event held in January, participants talked about their work with children, young people and families and considered new opportunities for cooperation.
Peltokaaren daycare centre received the highest environmental rating
The Peltokaaren daycare centre in Jokela is the first facility in Finland to receive the highest five-star rating in Rakennustieto's environmental classification.
Groups from Notkopuisto Daycare Centre will move to Peltokaaren Daycare Centre during renovations
The premises of the Notkopuisto daycare centre in Jokela require renovation due to indoor air quality issues. Three groups from the Notkopuisto daycare centre will move to the Peltokaaren daycare centre by the end of March 2025.
Instead of one, two projects were selected as the most child-friendly in Tuusula – a jury of children and young people voted for a gaming company and a volunteer organisation to receive the award.
The results of the first Child-Friendly Act competition held in Tuusula were decided by children and young people. The winners of the 2024 Child-Friendly Act competition were two organisations: gaming company XROC Gaming Oy and Polina Krapitzeva, who does volunteer work with young people.
Tuusula repairs Rakennus Kymppi
Building Kymppi is the oldest of the buildings from the former Hyrylä military base. The upcoming renovation project will give the building many more years of use and new possibilities.

Tuusula organises enjoyable and free hobby and club activities for primary school pupils. The municipality of Tuusula is looking for operators to organise hobby activities for the upcoming school year 2025–2026. The activities will take into account the wishes of children and young people. The search for operators will continue until the end of February 2025.
