The participatory budgeting round for children and young people is underway
Tuusula's seventh participatory budgeting round will kick off on Monday, 29 September with a call for ideas, and this time it is aimed at children and young people.
Keep your senses alert in traffic – Road Safety Week has begun
National Road Safety Week is celebrated annually during week 37, this year from 8 to 12 September. The theme week reminds us to keep our senses alert when out on the roads. So pay attention to your surroundings, whether you are walking, cycling or driving!
Purchase of snack tickets at Tuusula upper secondary schools starting on 8 September
Pupils at secondary schools in Tuusula can enjoy a snack in the afternoons during school days. There are many ways to purchase snack tickets.
Child-friendly municipality work in Tuusula: Joy for children and young people through hobbies and opportunities to influence their own everyday lives
Tuusula has launched the second six-month period of its Child-Friendly Municipality action plan. The mid-year review for spring 2025 was published at the end of May. We have compiled excerpts from our autumn activities, which we use to increase the opportunities for children and young people to influence and participate in matters that are important to them.
The hobby fair for children and young people will be held again on 19–21 August.
The Hobby Fair will be held in August in all municipal centres in Tuusula. The fair is a great place for children, young people and families to learn about the diverse hobby opportunities and hobby organisations in the local area.
Teaching begins in Tuusula – school starts on 7 August.
In Tuusula, primary and secondary schools will begin their autumn term on Thursday, 7 August 2025. Approximately 5,600 children and young people will be heading to school, including around 480 first-year pupils making their first journey to school. The Tuusula Art School and Tuusula College will begin operating in August.
The Hobby Fair is coming again in August – registration to present your hobby activities is open until 8 August.
The Hobby Fair will be held in August in Hyrylä, Jokela and Kellokoski. The fair is a great place for children, young people and families to learn about the diverse hobby opportunities and hobby providers in the surrounding area. We are now looking for hobby activity presenters – sign up by 8 August 2025 at the latest.
Efforts are being made to ensure the safety of schoolchildren travelling to Rykmentinpuisto School
The Rykmentinpuisto school and daycare centre will open in August 2025 at Rykmentin puistotie 19. The municipality of Tuusula will improve traffic safety in the area by installing speed bumps and directing schoolchildren to light traffic lanes. The need for traffic volume and other solutions will be monitored.
All facilities at Peltokaaren daycare centre now in use
The number of children attending the Peltokaaren daycare centre in Jokela has risen sharply, and all sections of the building are now in use. Tuusula's newest municipal daycare centre now has around 90 children. The building is also used by a group of open family activity clients.
School graduation ceremonies will be held on 31 May.
The spring term at schools in Tuusula ends on Saturday, 31 May. More than 5,000 primary school pupils and 740 upper secondary school students in Tuusula will then enjoy their well-deserved summer holidays. Everyday life will resume when the autumn term begins on 7 August.
