Half-yearly review of Tuusula's child-friendly municipality work
Tuusula's journey towards becoming a more child-friendly municipality is progressing with the support of UNICEF's Child-Friendly Municipality model. The objectives of the action plan have progressed during the spring, and preparations for the autumn are already underway. Join us on our journey towards a more child-friendly municipality!
This year, Osbu is for children.
Tuusula's seventh participatory budgeting round will begin at the end of September. This time, decision-making power over the use of municipal funds will be given to children and young people under the age of 18.
Park dining will be organised again this summer in Tuusula
In summer 2025, Tuusula will be offering free meals in parks to children and young people under the age of 18 in all municipal centres. Meals will start on Monday, 2 June. There will also be a fun programme of activities.

The renovation of Agustanpuisto Park is complete – the playground will be inaugurated on 5 June from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The renovation included replacing the park's play and exercise equipment, vegetation and lighting.
AI encourages and supports everyday exercise among schoolchildren
Tuusula is piloting a unique everyday exercise programme for 7th graders in Finland.
A sense of security in schools comes from shared rules and consideration for others.
Schools in Tuusula have paused to discuss safety with children and young people in the form of skid dialogues. The discussions have highlighted, among other things, the importance of rules and adult supervision during the school day, as well as the opportunities for pupils to influence matters.
Family centre survey for residents in the Central Uusimaa welfare area
The Central Uusimaa Family Centre Services are conducting a survey of local residents to identify families' wishes for the development of family centre work. The survey is open until 16 May 2025.
Tuusula celebrates with a Spring Carnival for the whole family on Saturday, 3 May 2025.
Tuusula Sports Centre, or Urka, will be celebrating spring on Saturday, 3 May 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., when the municipality of Tuusula will be hosting its now traditional Spring Carnival for the whole family.
Tuusula's Child-Friendly Municipality network expands
Increasing child-friendliness in Tuusula is a joint effort by many actors. Local associations and clubs play an important role in the work to make the municipality child-friendly. At a discussion event held in January, participants talked about their work with children, young people and families and considered new opportunities for cooperation.
